MARINATED TOMATO SAUCE

In a salad bowl mix together all of the ingredients.  Cover and stand at room temperature for 2 hours.  To serve, heat very gently in a double boiler.

3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced
2 garlic cloves, halved
2 tbsp fresh chervil
2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
2 tbsp fresh tarragon, chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 cup olive oil
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
salt, pepper
